I think it’s fair to say that we all know we need to get more veggies in when pregnant. It’s not rocket science. Eating crap makes your body do crappy things. Eating healthy makes your body do healthy things. ‘Nough said, right?
The problem is how. How do we, not just in theory, but literally get from point A to point B in the real world.
So this is what this series is all about. We are going to learn how to put the rubber to the road. How to clean up your diet, get the good foods in, the crappy foods out, and get you well on your way to rockin’ this pregnancy and motherhood thing out.
And did I mention this is also the secret to getting the baby weight off?! Two for one!
Step One: Clean out the fridge.
The obvious starting point here is to fill your house with real food, right? You're gonna eat what is around you.
The other side of that coin though, is your gonna have to get rid of the crap.
This will hurt. It’s like throwing hard earned money down the drain, but you will hear me say this a million times:
You’re not cheap, so don’t eat like you are. Tweet it out yo because it’s the truth.
From here on out we are only allowing the privilege of foods full of nutritional gold to grace our lips. If it is not a veggie, fruit, meat, dairy product, bean or grain the way that great- great granny would have eaten it, toss it.
If it says instant on it, toss it. If you need an advanced degree in chemistry to understand what is on the label, toss it. If you cannot pronounce the words, toss it. If you see a list a mile long, toss it.
What should be there are the basics of pantry gold and that takes us into step number two tomorrow: Make Some Switches. See ya then!
